The concept of creating a textile screen printing company began in the back row of an advertising classroom in college. Steve Mattero and friend Don Wimmer were drawing cartoons ( instead of paying attention ) and dreamed of entrepreneurial ventures in screen printing. By the summer of 79 they had mastered the basics of textile printing and sold T-shirts at concerts in Central Park, Manhattan. This helped pay for college and after a short lived accounting career Steve started The Divine Line in 1983. Divine Line produced Christian stock designs for sale in bookstores and via mail order, as well as screened products for local businesses and schools. In 1990 more emphasis was given to custom printing and the name was changed to Dezine Line. The operation originated in his home, but after Steve got married, wife Joanna desired a more generic use of the upstairs bathroom. So in 1989 the business was set up in a 600 sq ft shop downtown. The company expanded to a 900 sq ft space in 1991, and again to its present 3, 000 sq ft location in 1996. You want your garments done right, right? Dezine Line can print from 1 to 8 colors on most anything textile. T-shirts, Sweats, Jackets, Hats, Tote Bags, Umbrellas, Aprons, Mugs, Pens, Magnets, etc. We have the right equipment, know-how and printing capabilities to add the highest degree of quality to your job. Our presses are high-precision for tight color registration and consistency in print quality from the first to the last garment. We effectively cure-dry the garments so they dont fade or wash out for years to come. We stock all basic and many special ink colors, or if you need a special color match, we can do that as well.
